Dominika Kováčiková /1996/was born in Slovakia, she currenty studying in Studio of graphics and visual production led by Mgr.art. Patrik Ševčík, ArtD. on Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica.
The main theme is adolescence, loss of inocence and troubles with fitting in the adult world like a grown up human being, through the womans eye.The „heroine“ from my paintings have a huge desire for aknowledgement and achievement in the “mans world“, the world of grown ups, so they are prepared to fight for it,even when they are fragile from the traumas they went through as a teenagers.
Dominika Kováčiková explores different mediums, as well as the different self-doubt of a woman's life, from her childhood to her twenties. A visual artist of all kinds, she inventes hooded, criminal women in domestic interiors that she recreates with humor and realism.-Naomi Rubin for NOT SO CRAZY GIRLS
The heroines of Dominika are somewhat confused when faced with the expectations of the masculine world. Her heroine, or rather the heroine, does not see herself as part of these expectations. She tries on the roles that men of the "adult world" are trying to give her. Her exercises with a knife, or an attempt to turn into an aggressive, almost animal entity with clawed hands, and all kinds of sports exercises show confusion and unpreparedness for such roles.
Dominika, does not create the poeticized world of Galatea created by Pygmalion, but the world of creative perverts from the porn industry, or the fashion bullying industry, which aims to get extra profit. She negates the role of men in her work or endows them with sadistic roles, as in the series "Home Movie". In the new series “Everything goes OK”, lost for future generations, the role of the man is reduced to a minimum, turning the male into strawberries with male faces. They are trying to penetrate the girl's innermost place! Penetrate into her Soul!- Vlad Yurashko for "Everything goes OK!"
